I want to help third world countries in particular. I have many books that I’ve outgrown and the Goodwill I live near doesn’t accept books. Does anyone know a place where I can donate my books so that they’ll reach people that live in needy countries?

I’m looking for somewhere that I can donate about 20 books and get a receipt for tax purpose. I’d prefer it to be in the Morgan Hill/Gilroy Ca. area if possible.

I live in Michigan, and I have a ton of gently worn baby clothes and blankets etc. Does anyone know of any charities I could donate these too. I have been organizing my personal library, and I have at least 100 books I would like to donate somwhere. They are in perfectly good condition, most of them are old school & college textbooks that I would hate to recycle. Used bookstores do not want them either.

I am Philly, and it seems most people, or places want only new books, or money for new books. I have a bunch of old book and don’t really want to throw them away, but don’t know what else to do with them.
