my son also does this, gives no signs what so ever that he is full. i just give him enough that i know that he should be full if that makes sense. you would know yourself if you are over feeding him or giving him to less.

When feeding a baby solids under 1 yr old you should only be giving about 1-2oz servings a couple of times per day. It is up to mommy and daddy to stop the feeding… my daughter wants to keep eating usually and we just hide the bowl and stop the feeding. She doesn’t let it bother her. We just occupy her with a toy and she’s happy lol.
Be sure your feedings are not replacing formula/breast milk feedings. They need to compliment them since the first year should primarily be milk. We offer solids about 30min-1hr after a nursing session and then about an hour or two later she’ll be ready to nurse again.

It may be time to switch foods. Maybe he’s ready for a different stage of food. Are you giving him table foods or baby foods? Also, how big is he? If he’s a big baby, then those baby foods won’t get it, he needs more solid foods. If what you’ve been doing is not working, its time to try something new. Try blending table foods for him in your blender, just add a little water,especially for meats. My children turned out just fine.

he’s old enough to start playing around with the baby spoon (the tip of which is covered in a protective coating, so that baby’s gums won’t get hurt).. since you are feeding him now, it’s hard to know but the tell-tale signs are that he becomes distracted from the food.. and you have to remember that baby’s stomach is as big as his fist.. yes, that small.. so when you think it’s enough, stop feeding and see if he makes a sound or gesture to ask for more.. i know a baby like yours and it’s indeed not easy to see if he’s hungry or not.. the point of giving him the spoon is that he can feed himself (well, partially anyways) and that you can see when he starts paying more attention to the spoon than to the food itself..

pushing food away
turns his head to the side when I put the spoon to his mouth
keeps mouth closed
opens mouth just barely to get the spoon in
spits food back out
plays with his food
